What types of moves do you handle?

We are a full-service moving company. We handle residential and commercial moves of all sizes. In addition to the heavy lifting, we also offer professional packing and unpacking services to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Can I arrange a move without me being there?

Absolutely! We understand that you might be out of town or handling other business on moving day. As long as we have access to the property and a plan in place, we can handle the entire move remotely.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. To reserve your specific moving date and crew, we require a 25% deposit. This ensures that we dedicate our resources to you and turn away other requests for that time slot.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

We understand that plans change.

48+ Hours Notice: No problem. If you let us know at least 48 hours in advance, we can reschedule you without issue.

Less Than 48 Hours: We will do everything we can to accommodate your new date, but we cannot guarantee availability.

Pricing & Tipping

Do you charge a flat or hourly rate?

We charge an hourly rate. You only pay for the time our crew is working on your move. This is generally the most transparent and fair way to price local moves.

How much should I tip my movers?

This is one of the most common questions we get! Tipping is entirely up to you. However, our guys work very hard, so tips to reward a job well done are certainly appreciated.

General Rule of Thumb: Generally speaking, we see average tips fall between 15% to 20% of the total bill. Of course, you can adjust this up or down as you feel appropriate based on the service you received.

Liability & Items We Move

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We are a fully licensed and insured moving company. We operate in compliance with all state and federal regulations to ensure your move is legal and safe.

What happens if my belongings are damaged?

We take extreme care with your items, but accidents can happen.

Basic Liability: By default, your move includes regulatory valuation coverage at $0.60 per pound per article.

Complete Value Protection: For peace of mind, we offer It on every move. This provides much more comprehensive coverage for your valuables. Ask your move coordinator for details on adding this to your quote.

What does Acadiana Movers NOT move?

For safety and liability reasons, there are specific items we do not touch or transport. These include:

Liquids: We cannot transport cleaning fluids, open bottles, or other liquids that could spill and damage other items.

Granite: We generally do not move loose granite slabs due to the high risk of cracking.

Unique High-Value Pieces: We may decline to move certain unique, high-dollar furniture pieces or large, specialized items that require crating or handling beyond standard moving capabilities.
